How I Stay Motivated to Work Out

We’ve all been there… in a rut… sitting on the couch in a pit of self loathing because we haven’t worked out in weeks, months, or worse..

Or you find yourself doing the same workout a few times per week with no results and you’re completely bored.

Getting and staying motivated can be tough. So I’m going to share with you all a couple of ways I’ve learned to do just that.

  1. Switch it up! It’s easy to get into the habit of going to the same group fit class at the same time every week, or running the same route staring at the same scenery. While that’s just fine, our bodies crave variance. It’s one of the best ways to keep it (and our minds) fit. My absolute favorite way to do this (and I think probably the easiest) is to give yourself the freedom to try multiple forms of exercise. For me the solution to that predicament has been Class Pass.  Maybe you haven’t heard of it, or maybe you have and are skeptical. I know I was. I thought about it for years before I actually tried it. But it has truly changed the way I workout. I’m able to do tons of different workouts: yoga, bootcamps, pilates, spinning, and things I’ve never even heard of before! This keeps me on my toes (literally), and helps keep me interested. And the best part is that no matter the time of day, there’s sure to be at least a few classes available for the exact time you feel like getting your sweat on.
  2. Cute workout gear. Duh! There’s nothing more motivating than the excuse to wear your adorable new yoga pants. I’ll link some of my favorite running, HIT, and yoga gear below! My favorite, though, is having an adorable new outfit sent straight to my door every month! Ellie activewear is one of only a few subscription boxes I think are truly worth it. Every outfit I’ve received from them has been great quality and is worn on repeat.
  3. Listen to something that interests you! This is especially true for activities like running and outdoor cycling. You can only listen to so many spotify playlists. I learned pretty early on that podcasts and audiobooks were my saving grace while running. A few of my favorites are:
